The Modern Gallery of the Saarlandmuseum is situated close to the heart of Saarbrücken, and is one of the leading museums in south-west Germany. The exhibits in the museum complex range from Impressionism to the present. Key topics are the paintings of the Berlin Secession, German Expressionism and the art of the École de Paris and Informalism.
World famous: Franz Marc's "Blue Horse". While changing exhibitions of modern art attract visitors on the inside, outside is a generously designed sculpture garden with views of the Saar.
The extension, which opened in November 2017, offers some 1500 m² additional exhibition space, eight halls and a 14-m high room in the centre of the pavilion with plenty of space for contemporary works of art.
As our guest, in addition to our own services, you will also receive the Saarland Card for free (for stays of two nights or more), which gives you free admission to over 85 attractions and free bus and rail travel in the Saarland region. For further information please go to www.card.saarland.
